Death Update
A young woman stuck her head into a small room, empty except for a small office chair against one wall. She had talked to this AI many times in the past and yet it felt so much stranger coming to do it in this place. The AI handled the business policies of her district and so she had to go through them to get her initial licenses as well as during her yearly audits. Normally this could all be handled through the computer; coming here felt like some kind of interview power play.
Eden: Hello, is this the room for Jerry-33? I’m here for my appeal.
Jerry 33: Hello Eden, yes this will be our room. Please come in and have a seat.
It was the same soft spoken male voice from her previous interactions. Eden wondered how they decided the voice for these things. Probably some algorithm designed to optimize human reactions in these situations.
Eden [unsure where to look]: Oh, ok. Sorry, first time here. Usually this is online but they told me I had to come in for this. I wasn’t sure what to expect.
