Have you tried a beyond burger yet? Maybe it wasn’t the best tasting burger you have had, but that was merely the first step in this new technology.

Lab-grown meat, also known as cultured meat or cell-based meat, is a revolutionary development in the world of food technology. The concept of creating meat in a lab may sound futuristic, but it is becoming increasingly popular due to its potential to address many of the issues surrounding traditional meat production.

For me personally, what I am most excited about is how this can help benefit the land. The environmental impact of traditional meat production is a growing concern. Livestock farming requires vast amounts of land, water, and resources, and contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions. Let’s be honest with ourselves here as well. Going vegetarian or vegan wouldn’t solve this problem either. The enormous amount of land and chemicals needed to support a vegetarian society of our size would rape our land and all the animals that live in it. Lab-grown meat, in contrast, can be produced with significantly lower land and resource requirements and has the potential to produce less greenhouse gas emissions.

Another issue with traditional meat production is animal welfare. I don’t believe we should aim for a one for one trade…
